GS-601 is a low pH solid formula for removing metal hydroxides, calcium carbonate and other types of scaling. It is suitable for reverse osmosis membranes, DTRO membranes, hollow fiber membranes, as well as nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafiltration (UF) membranes.

As a ‌dispersive liquid‌, it easily mixes with aqueous solutions, reducing treatment intensity and cleaning time. Its rapid dissolution and dilution capabilities enable strong release of contaminants from membrane surfaces without damaging them. The excellent cleaning performance helps extend membrane operational life. The standard dilution ratio is 1-2% of the total cleaning system volume (including tank, pipes, filters, pressure vessels, and membranes).

Application method

• Inspect the cleaning tank, hoses, and security filter.
• Check and replace the security filter cartridge with a new one.
• Fill the cleaning tank with RO permeate or demineralized water. Slowly add the calculated dosage of chemical to the tank. Circulate and mix the solution using the cleaning pump. Heat the mixed solution to the maximum temperature specified by the membrane manufacturer using the heater. Adjust the pHof cleaning solution to 2.5–3 using hydrochloric acid or ammonia.
• Circulate the solution in the feed direction for 30 minutes. The cleaning flow rate should follow recommendations from the membrane manufacturer or system supplier.
• For severe fouling, drain the initial return flow (≈15% of the tank volume) to prevent re-deposition of contaminants onto membrane surfaces. Static soaking is recommended for heavily contaminated membranes. After soaking, resume circulation. Extend soaking time if fouling persists.
• Clean each stage separately for optimal results. If the solution becomes turbid or the pH exceeds the product’s recommended range, drain and replace it before cleaning subsequent stages.
• Rinse the system with RO permeate before restarting operations.
